The former extends over 600 miles from east to west. It consists of great massifs in the western sector, with peaks rising to over 14,000 feet, including Monte Bianco (Mont Blanc), Monte Rosa and Cervino (the Matterhorn). Signa in the Province of Florence, Tuscany
Signa is in a beautiful location, 14 kms from Florence, immediately after the bridge on the Arno from which its name derives. The hamlet of Ponte a Signa is in the municipality of Lastra a Signa.
The municipal territory occupies a portion of the lower Arno valley on the right bank of the river down to the low hills that surround the plane of Campi Bisenzio. The municipal territory extends over an area of 18.81 sq kms, is at an altitude of 46 metres and has a population of about 15,000 inhabitants.
DIRECTIONS
By Car: From Florence take the state road SS 67 for Empoli to Ponte a Signa passing the Ponte a Signa bridge; or take the state road SS 66 for Pistoia and turn after San Piero a Ponti for San Mauro a Signa.
From the Autostrada A11 and A1 exit at Firenze-Signa.
