General Information
Welcome to the website of Kilulu Lodge!
We are a quaint guest lodge situated on the Western outskirts of Johannesburg, close to Lanseria airport and have welcomed guests from all over the world since 1988.
Nestling between the horse riding community in Ruimsig(see map) Kilulu Guest Lodge caters for those who prefer accomodation that offers an environment of tranquillity and relaxation, yet provides a high level of standard and service.
We offer guests a country retreat, close to Randburg, Sandton, Midrand and Johannesburg's world of business and have an impressive collection of country restaurants and places of interest in the vicinity.
Our six Garden Suites all have their own veranda with a view over parts of the garden. Four of them have an open plan kitchen, fire places and reading corner. All of them have an en-suite bathroom, some with their own courtyard, as well as TV, mini bars and coffee tea facilities.
Our Business Suite has been specially designed for full wheelchair access and has a large desk to provide plenty of workspace.
Alternatively the Luxury cottage boasts a private courtyard with a spa-bath under glass and its own little garden leading off the patio. The spacious, comfortable lounge, with fireplace and open-plan kitchen is furnished with Zimbabwean teak and lovingly collected Africana giving it a distinctly colonial flair.
The two self-catering suites have a fully equipped open-plan kitchen, dining area, comfortable reading corner and fire-place. They are ideal for the business person staying a little longer while our honeymoon suites are the perfect romantic weekend getaway.
What started in the 1970's as a riding school in the rural outskirts of Johannesburg, Kilulu Lodge is today a small, exclusive Guesthouse in Ruimsig, a fast growing, young suburb.
Our well-trained dynamic team embraces the diversity of the New South Africa just as much as the décor and ambience on Kilulu Lodge.
Owner Katja Berker, lovingly collected African crafts during her time as a journalist in Southern Africa and boasts an impressive collection of Afrikana. The main house and all Suites are stylishly decorated with an eye for detail and some tongue in cheek fusion of colonial and African chic.
