Together with a small plane, which serviced Zihuatanejo's former small airport, we are the pioneers of Tourism in this spectacular region.
The creamy white sand of the pristine beaches and the warm crystalline waters of the beautiful bay of Zihuatanejo convinced Mr. Alfonso Galindo Mackintosh to build this hotel and to name it after his lovely wife and daughter, both named Catalina. Catalina Beach Resort is a charming, small hotel, nestled in a setting of lush tropical gardens on a hill overlooking magnificent La Ropa Beach, one of the finest beaches in Mexico. It has been managed in fine German Tradition for over 30 years and is known by its guests, who return year after year, as a romantic hidden treasure in the sun, where you can relax and unwind from the stress and strain of work and city life, and be yourself in a laid back atmosphere of club-like privacy
The magnificent "Playa la Ropa" - a half moon shaped, palm fringed strip of white sand - is said to be Mexico's most beautiful beach. Here the surf gently washes up as waves lovingly caress the sand and the beach birds running after crabs.
"Beach palapas" (thatched roof umbrellas) are all equipped with chaise lounges, a small table and beach chairs, where our guests can relax and appreciate the awesome surroundings.
Our "Beach Bar" offers delicious, cooling tropical drinks for you to sip at the bar or under your "palapa".
A variety of water sports are available and the hotel can make arrangements for whatever you wish to do. Massages or Reflexology can also be arranged upon request.
