This is one of the largest Italian regions (the sixth), an intermediate zone linking the north with the centre of the country, the part of continental Italy joining the Italian peninsula; as such, it is of great importance from the point of view of communications.

Information about Campagnola Emilia, Emilia Romagna
Campagnola Emilia is a town in the lowlands of Reggio Emilia
The territory of Campagnola belonged to the Canossa family in the 11th century, and later became the property of the Da Correggio family, who ruled it from the 14th to the 17th century. The construction of a medieval village begun in Campagnola in 1621 by Siro d'Austria increased the importance of the area. Campagnola has an interesting 18th-century parish church dedicated to San Protasio and San Gervasio. Villa Conti-Cottafavi and Villa Barbanti are both located in the same town square as the parish church.
