History. Campania can structurally be divided into two clearly defined zones stretching northwest-southeast parallel to the coast. Inland rise the Campania and Lucanian Apennines, separated by the Sella di Conza (700 m.) and the upper Sele valley. Italy - Information on San Nicola Manfredi in the Province of Benevento

This town, composed of seven hamlets, is surrounded by wide woody areas, green pastures and luxuriant countryside, planted with cereals, vineyards and olive groves.
In St. Maria Ingrisone several archaeological finds were retrieved, including some marble sculptures, coins and memorial stones of Roman times. It was a hamlet of the neighbouring Baronia di Montefusco and then passed to the Cantelmi family, the D’Aquino and finally the Sozi Carafa until the abilition of feudalism.

NOT TO BE MISSED:
1. The Sozi Carafa Palace
2. Church of St. Nicola
