Situated at the foot of Mount Paraturo, on the left bank of the river Isclero, Paolisi is characterized by several seventeenth and eighteenth-century palaces. Inhabited since ancient times, the first well-grounded news dates back to the Longobard period.
As a hamlet of Arpaia, Paolisi’s people paid their feudal fees to the Della Leonessa, Guevara, Carafa and Caracciolo families; after the unity of Italy Paolisi became part of the province of Benevento.
