Italy - Information on Cautano in Valfortore in the Province of Benevento

The village is situated on the slopes of the Mount Camposauro, in a natural environment rich in vineyards and olive groves, from which premium olive oil and wine are produced.
Historical origins go back to the High Middle Ages: a Hamlet of Baronia di Tocco, the village had the same destiny.
Under the Angevins, it was ceded to Roberto of Ravello; then it belonged to the Della Ratta family, it then passed onto the Carafa and finally to the d’Avalos, who owned it until the fall of feudalism. With the unity of Italy it became part of the province of Benevento.

NOT TO BE MISSED:
1. Church of S. Andrea
2. Palace Procaccini
3. Palace Izzo
